Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated date at the top.

Introduction

Welcome to Homebase and Homebase Apps (Chat, Photos, Feed). We value your privacy and are committed to safeguarding it. This Privacy Policy outlines your privacy for your data across both the Homebase platform and Homebase apps.

Data we collect

For the Homebase Platform:

  • Personal Data: Your data is stored on your own Homebase. We do not collect it.
  • Usage data: We collect no usage statistics or telemetry.

For Chat, Photos and Feed apps:

  • Personal Data: All your photos, messages, and feeds are stored on your own Homebase. We don't have access to it
  • Usage data: We collect no usage statistics or telemetry.

Location app

Homebase includes an optional Location app. It is off by default and works only after you turn it on; you can turn it off at any time.

When you enable it, the app accesses your device's location — both precise and approximate, and, if you allow it, in the background even when the app is closed or not in use — to record your own location history. While tracking, it may also read your step count (physical activity) and battery level and attach them to that history, so you can later see your own movements in more detail. On Android these readings use your device's activity-recognition and location permissions; on iOS they use Location Services and Motion & Fitness. You can revoke any of these permissions in your device settings.

As with everything on Homebase, this data is stored on your own Homebase, end-to-end encrypted to you. We do not collect it, we cannot read it, and it is never shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising or analytics. It stays your private data, under your control, and you can delete it at any time.

How we use data

We don't collect any personal or usage data through the Homebase platform or the associated apps. All are designed for complete user privacy.

Disclosure

We have no data to disclose because we don't collect any.

Location history, step counts, and battery readings recorded by the Location app are encrypted to you on your own Homebase and are never disclosed to us or to any third party.

Security

Your data is stored on your own Homebase, zero knowledge encrypted (this means even we can't decrypt and access your data; public content such as a public post is, of course, not encrypted). We do not have access to your data.
